The Amazon Fire TV Stick is the most popular IPTV device in Ireland — and for good reason. It's cheap, it plugs into any HDMI port, and once set up it turns any television into a full streaming machine with 55,000+ live channels, 176,000+ movies and 46,000+ series. The catch: IPTV player apps aren't in the Amazon Appstore, so you need to sideload one. This guide walks you through the entire process in about ten minutes, no technical knowledge required.

What You'll Need

  • An Amazon Fire TV Stick (any model — Lite, 4K, 4K Max) connected to your TV and Wi-Fi
  • An active IPTV subscription or a free 24-hour trial — you'll receive your login details on WhatsApp within minutes
  • About 10 minutes

Step 1 — Allow Apps From Unknown Sources

Because IPTV players are installed from outside the Amazon Appstore, the Fire Stick needs your permission first. This is a standard Android setting and completely safe to enable:

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, open Settings (the gear icon on the far right).
  2. Select My Fire TVDeveloper Options.
  3. Turn on Apps from Unknown Sources (on newer models this appears after you choose Install unknown apps — enable it for the Downloader app in the next step).
Can't see Developer Options?

On recent Fire OS versions Amazon hides it. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → About, then click on your Fire TV Stick name seven times. Developer Options will appear in the menu.

Step 2 — Install the Downloader App

Downloader is a free, official app from the Amazon Appstore that lets you fetch files directly onto your Fire Stick using short codes.

  1. From the home screen, select the search icon (magnifying glass) and type Downloader.
  2. Select the orange Downloader icon and press Get / Download.
  3. Open it once installed and allow the permissions it requests.

Step 3 — Install Your IPTV Player

Now the easy part. Open Downloader, click into the URL field, and enter the installer code for the player you want. Every official Strong 8K app — along with its current Downloader code — lives on our Downloads page, so you're always grabbing the latest version.

  1. Enter the code from the Downloads page for your chosen app and press Go.
  2. The APK downloads in a few seconds. When prompted, press Install.
  3. Once it finishes, choose Open — and optionally go back into Downloader and delete the APK file to free up space.
Which player should I pick?

If you're unsure, start with our flagship all-in-one player — it handles live TV, movies and series in a single interface. Prefer a TV-guide-first layout? TiviMate 8K Pro is the fan favourite for channel zapping. All options are compared on the Downloads page.

Step 4 — Log In With Your Credentials

Open your newly installed player and add your subscription:

  1. Choose Add Playlist, then select Xtream Codes login (recommended) or M3U.
  2. Enter the portal URL, username and password we sent you on WhatsApp — exactly as written, with no extra spaces.
  3. Give the app a minute to sync channels, movies and the EPG TV guide on first launch.

That's it — you're watching. Browse the channel list, mark your favourites, and explore the on-demand library.

Getting the Best Picture Quality

  • Use 5GHz Wi-Fi — or better, an Ethernet adapter. The 2.4GHz band struggles with 4K streams in busy homes.
  • Check your speed — aim for at least 15 Mbps for 4K and 50 Mbps for 8K content. Full requirements are in our setup guide.
  • If a channel buffers, switch the decoder in your player's settings (HW → HW+ → SW) and increase the buffer size — this solves the majority of playback complaints on Fire Sticks.
  • Restart the Stick occasionally — Fire Sticks accumulate background processes; a reboot keeps things snappy.

Troubleshooting Quick Fixes

The app won't install

Double-check that Apps from Unknown Sources is enabled for Downloader (Step 1). If the download fails, re-enter the code — codes occasionally update when a new app version ships, so grab the current one from the Downloads page.

Channels won't load after login

Nine times out of ten this is a typo in the portal URL, username or password. Re-enter them exactly as sent — then restart the app. Still stuck? Message our support on WhatsApp and we'll sort it live.

Picture freezes at peak times

Try the decoder switch described above and move the Stick to the 5GHz network. If your whole connection is slow in the evenings, test your broadband speed — the issue usually sits between your router and your ISP.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it legal to install apps with Downloader?

Yes — Downloader is an official Amazon Appstore app, and sideloading is a built-in capability of Fire OS. You're simply installing a media player app.

Will this work on an old Fire Stick?

Yes. Any Fire Stick running Fire OS 5 or later works. On older or Lite models, choose a lightweight player (our Fast 8K option is built exactly for them) for the smoothest experience.

Can I use the same subscription on my phone too?

Your plan covers the number of simultaneous devices you chose at purchase — 1 or 2 screens at once. You can install the apps on as many devices as you like; the limit only applies to concurrent streaming. See plans for details.

How fast is activation?

Minutes. Order or request a trial on WhatsApp, and your login details arrive right away during normal operating hours.

Ready to go? Grab your app from the Downloads page, or start with a free trial and have live TV running on your Fire Stick before your kettle boils.
